GLOBALTECH SOLUTIONS SAGL will appoint a personal data protection officer (“DPO”)  in accordance with articles 37 ss. of the European Regulation no. 679/2016 (the  “GDPR”) who can be contacted for all matters relating to the processing of personal data and the exercise of users’ rights provided for by the privacy policy and the legislation on the processing of personal data.

1) WHAT ARE COOKIES

The Sites use cookies, internet tags and similar technologies (hereinafter jointly referred to as “cookies”), which are technically small files containing packets of information sent by a web server to the visitor’s Internet browser and automatically stored by the user on the device (personal computer, tablet, mobile phone, etc.) and automatically sent back to the server at each subsequent access to the site.

The cookie can only be used by the web server that issued it (or by any third parties with whom it was originally shared); this means, for example, that the cookies generated by GLOBALTECH SOLUTIONS SAGL  cannot be read by servers managed by third parties.

The cookie is then reread and recognized by the website that sent it whenever a subsequent connection is made. Internet tags (also known as tracking pixels, action tags, web beacons, single-pixel GIFs, clear GIFs or 1×1 GIFs) are placed both on online advertisements that bring users to this Site, and on different pages of this Site.

This technology is used to measure visitor responses to the Site and the effectiveness of related advertising campaigns (including how many times a page is opened and what information is accessed), as well as to evaluate the use of the Site.

2) WHAT COOKIES ARE USED FOR

Cookies are useful as they allow you to store the user’s browsing preferences and then customize the Sites according to his needs by improving users’ browsing experiences.

Cookies may, for example, make the use of the Sites more immediate and/or enable certain features. For example, cookies can allow you to avoid re-entering the same information several times during your visit. In certain cases, cookies can also make sure that the advertising displayed online is more appropriate to the user or relevant to his interests.

Some cookies are necessary for the correct provision of the Sites or useful for a personalized use of the same; in this case, their inhibition may compromise some features of the Sites. In addition, thanks to cookies, GLOBALTECH SOLUTIONS SAGL  may publish on its Sites, directly or through third parties, advertisements in line with your interests, deduced on the basis of your online activities and your browsing habits.

3) ACCORDING TO WHICH CATEGORIES CAN COOKIES BE GROUPED?

The cookies used on the Sites can be distinguished by virtue of the following criteria:

A) Depending on the entity that manages cookies:

i) first-party or first-party cookies: these cookies are installed and managed directly by the Data Controller through the Sites;

ii) third-party cookies: these cookies are generated, installed through the Sites, and managed by third parties other than GLOBALTECH SOLUTIONS SAGL;

B) Based on how long they remain active:

i) session cookies: these cookies store the necessary information during the browsing session and are deleted immediately after the session expires, or when the browser is closed;

ii) persistent cookies: these cookies are stored on the hard disk of the device that the user is using for navigation and the Sites read them every time he makes a new visit. A persistent cookie has a certain expiration date, after which it will stop working.

C) According to the purposes pursued:

i) technical cookies: these are cookies necessary to allow the user to browse the Sites and take advantage of their features. Without these cookies, some services or functions could not be provided and navigation on the Sites would not be easy and functional;

ii) analytics cookies: these are cookies used to obtain statistical information, in aggregate or non-aggregate form, on the number of users who access the Sites and how the Sites are used;

iii) profiling cookies: these are cookies used to draw a user profile in order to display advertisements that may be in line with his interests, as they are consistent with his tastes, interests and consumption habits.

TECHNICAL COOKIES

This type of cookie allows the proper functioning of some sections of the Sites and is essential to allow the user to navigate within the Sites and use their features. Technical cookies are used, for example, to recognize the user who has authenticated to his e-mail box and keep the session open even when visiting other pages of the Sites, or to ensure some security measures of the Sites and monitor their correct functioning.

Technical cookies can be of two categories:

  • navigation cookies: they guarantee the normal use of the Sites and are usually session cookies, which are automatically deleted when you close your browser; these cookies are necessary for the operation of the Site and cannot be deactivated in our systems. If you refuse these cookies, by changing the settings of your browser, we cannot guarantee the operation and performance of the Site during your visit.
  • functionality cookies: they allow you to browse the Sites according to a series of selected criteria (e.g. language or country of origin) in order to improve the services rendered on the Site. These are persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s device even after the browser is closed, until the expiry date for each cookie (typically from two months to two years) or until their cancellation by the user. If you refuse these cookies you will not be able to use the navigation features mentioned above which could impact the performance of the Sites and your browsing experience.

Technical cookies are not used for purposes other than those mentioned above. In this way, it will be possible to avoid resubmitting the cookie banner on future visits to the Site. You can disable technical cookies through your browser settings, as specified below in this cookie policy, or in the case of third-party technical cookies by accessing the information and consent forms of that third party through the links in the table below. Profiling cookies are used to group users into homogeneous categories based on, for example, user preferences. These cookies can be used, among other things, to send advertising messages in accordance with the user’s behaviour on the net and his browsing interests (therefore also outside the GLOBALTECH SOLUTIONS SAGL Sites). In accordance with the applicable legislation, the prior consent of users is required for the installation of profiling cookies.

The Site also presents cookie sharing plugins with social networks, which allow users to share their information with social networks and social network managers to identify users and store information relating to the use of the Site in their profiles. If you do not accept these cookies, you cannot use or view these sharing tools.

Many companies that generate cookies on third-party sites, in fact, offer the possibility to disable and / or inhibit in a simple and immediate way only their own cookies, even when these are anonymous, or do not involve the registration of personal identification data.

5) HOW TO MANAGE CONSENT AND REFUSE COOKIES

When the user accesses the Sites, and has his browser set to accept cookies, he can express his preferences regarding the various types of cookies through the popup banner displayed on the pages of the Sites.

These preferences will be recorded in a special cookie consent management platform (i.e., the so-called Consent Management Platform, hereinafter “CMP”), developed in accordance with the principles of the applicable legislation on the processing of personal data and according to the guidelines and indications provided by IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) to allow the user to exercise his and  his choices in a granular manner.

The CMP allows you to give or deny consent to various types of cookies, both issued directly by GLOBALTECH SOLUTIONS SAGL  and by its partners and suppliers; this means that it is not necessary to express a preference for each individual cookie or for each third party, although the choice for each third party is still allowed directly by the CMP or in the tables above. The different types of cookies are identified and classified on the basis of the purposes for which cookies are issued and used, making their recognition easier and more immediate.

In particular, when the user accesses the Sites, through the popup banner you can choose to:

  • accept the installation of all the categories of cookies listed above, by clicking on the “Accept and close” button;
  • access the CMP and choose which categories of cookies to accept or refuse according to the purposes, or according to the third party, selecting or deselecting them individually, clicking on the “Learn more and customize” button;
  • deny the installation of all cookies, keeping only the technical ones necessary for the operation of the Site, by clicking on the “X” at the top right of the banner.

Click the link below to access the CMP and manage your consents regarding cookies on the Site.
